The 1st Mediterranean Food Entrepreneurship Week will take place from 22 to 26 June 2026 at CIHEAM Zaragoza (Spain), bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs, professionals, and innovators from across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
The programme aims to strengthen entrepreneurial capacities in the agri-food sector by providing participants with practical skills in business development, innovation, marketing, and sustainable food value chains. It targets young entrepreneurs, start-ups, and professionals seeking to transform innovative ideas into viable food businesses.
Through a combination of expert-led sessions, interactive workshops, mentoring activities, and networking opportunities, the week will foster collaboration between entrepreneurs, researchers, business support organisations, and innovation ecosystems from both shores of the Mediterranean.
Participants will explore key topics such as:
- Sustainable and circular food business models
- Digitalisation and innovation in agri-food systems
- Market access and branding strategies
- Access to finance and investment readiness
- Building resilient and competitive Mediterranean food enterprises
By promoting entrepreneurship and cross-border cooperation, the initiative contributes to strengthening innovation-driven, inclusive, and sustainable agri-food systems in the region.
The Mediterranean Food Entrepreneurship Week reflects CIHEAM’s broader commitment to empowering young innovators, enhancing skills, and supporting the development of dynamic food ecosystems aligned with the challenges of climate change, food security, and rural development.
